Each painting begins with the landscape. With canvases spread across the ground, paint and water collide, shift, expand, repel and fuse until the image settles into place. Weather, gravity and the quality inherent within the materials form a horizon-less landscape (above) from which fragments of figures, symbols and narratives gradually emerge (below).
